Stahoo’s Brewery and Taproom

Stahoo’s Brewery & Taproom is a family brewery in Casper owned by Jim and Heidi. The name is a Polish nickname for Stanley and honors Jim’s grandfather Stan, whose Polish immigrant parents had him in Saginaw, Michigan, in 1911. Stan farmed, worked as a butcher and spent 32 years at a General Motors foundry, and he and his brothers built a moonshine still during Prohibition. Jim grew up working beside him and credits him with a tough, no-nonsense work ethic. Over 20 years, Jim and Heidi visited many small independent breweries before opening their own. Stahoo’s is a certified craft malt brewery that offers what it calls a field-to-glass experience. It brews with only malt, water, hops and yeast, and staff can tell guests where the malt was grown and by whom. Beers are often named, with humor, after family, friends, places and events.
